The Tooth Fairy Better Be Real

Sparky: I did not have a good day. So, this morning I bounded out of bed, when outside to relieve myself and then waited patiently at the door until Tara let me back in. (Well, maybe I barked once.)

Then, as is my ritual, I ran to my dish to eat my breakfast. The dish was empty. So, once more, I waited patiently for Tara to come and put the food in my dish. (Well, maybe I ran back to see what was taking her so long.)

She walked right past the door and went back to bed. Without feeding me.

So, I politely went in to remind her that I would like to eat. She politely ignored me.

I didn't press the point, I figured I'd sleep a little longer and then eat breakfast.

So, we slept some more and then I got up, went outside and came back in to find my bowl empty. Again. You have got to be kidding me.

Tara knows how seriously I take my meal times. I can't believe she would toy with me this way.

Then she rattled our collars, so I ran excitedly to the door. At least I was going to get to go somewhere. Maybe there'd be food there.

We're driving in the car, and I totally recognize that we're going to daycare. Great. I know where they keep the food. I can guilt someone into feeding me.

We pull up and Tara gets Denver out of the car and tells me to stay. Stay? What am I, a dog?

When Tara got back in the car I knew it couldn't be good. I mean, sure, we could have been heading downtown for a special little outing, just the two of us, and visit Three Dog Bakery and Blaze-n-Skyy. Except she turned away from downtown. It's bad.

We ended up at the v-e-t. Not that I don't like Dr. Elledge, he's a nice enough guy, but bad things happen at that place. And they won't even let me and Denver play with their cat.

They made me all loopy and then they cleaned my teeth! If that wasn't bad enough, they totally stole one of them! How am I going to put it under my pillow. I want my dollar!

So, I'm hoping all of you can learn from my experience. When there's no breakfast in sight, and your owner is loving all over like you won't be around tomorrow, you might want to hide. And pack a snack.
