Did you know that Tara's a writer?

S: Many of you may not realize that Tara is a novelist.

D: She's working toward being published, and now all of you can help!

S: The subject of her most recent novel hits close to home. It's about a woman who opens a doggie daycare...

D: Sounds familiar.

S: ...and is accidentally dating two men...

D: How do you accidentally date two men?

S: ...and, oh yeah, she's being "haunted" by her dead best friend.

D: Okay, definitely not autobiographical.

S: Here's Tara to tell you about how you can help.

Tara: I'm excited to be a quarter finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award for my commercial fiction piece, The Things I Do For Her. Ten thousand people submitted a manuscript to the contest. Based on the pitch, the premise and the writing quality of the piece, they narrowed the field to five hundred. That's where I am now.

By clicking this link you can download an excerpt from my novel (only 17 pages). Every download increases my ranking, thus making my entry stand out more. You must have an Amazon account to download the piece, but it's free!

If you like what you read, please leave a review. The reviews will be part of the next elimination process. My manuscript is also being reviewed by Publisher's Weekly (cool!). On April 15th, they will narrow the field to one hundred. The semi-finalist manuscripts will be evaluated by a team at Penguin, and narrowed to the top three, which Amazon customers will vote on. The first place winner will receive a publishing contract from Penguin (last year an additional five people signed contracts).

I hope you will take the time to download my excerpt. I appreciate your support!
