Tara: I'm excited to be a quarter finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award for my commercial fiction piece, The Things I Do For Her. Ten thousand people submitted a manuscript to the contest. Based on the pitch, the premise and the writing quality of the piece, they narrowed the field to five hundred. That's where I am now.

On April 15th, they will narrow the field to one hundred. The semi-finalist manuscripts will be evaluated by a team at Penguin, and narrowed to the top three, which Amazon customers will vote on. The first place winner will receive a publishing contract from Penguin (last year an additional five people signed contracts).
