Guest Blogger: Ginger Johnson

Ginger is a year and a half old hound mix. She has been coming to Sparky's since she was a wee little pup (see above). Best we can figure, she ended up on a stretcher, because she now towers over most all of her friends (see below). Her hobbies include unbridled excitement, looking adorable, and running around to see what everybody else is doing.

Ginger: So, I heard this weird expression the other day. The Dog Days of Summer. Maybe that person hadn't gotten the memo, but none of us want it to be this darn hot. I mean, it's not like I'm going to let it slow me down or anything, but 70 degrees sounds darn good right now.

So, in honor of these being our days and all, the Asheville Tourists hosted an event just for us last Sunday. Doggies at the Diamond. The only thing I saw sparkling was the sun glinting off dog tags. But anywho, it was pretty cool. My person brought me in the gate and right away I see Tara from Sparky's. I'm barely over that excitement when a complete stranger smells my butt. What could I do? I smelled his back. I mean, I'm not rude. Then I see Shannon and Russ from Sparky's. And Sweetpea is even there! I mean, how cool is that? People I already think are way cool plus all these new dogs and tons of people thinking how cute I am. (I'm just assuming that last part, but really...)

There were doggie daiquiris and pools full of water and hot dogs. These are all very good things. The only obvious problem is that the people on the field refused to share the ball. At Sparky's we always share. I mean, what are we? Heathens?

So, my week started out pretty good and then, bonus! I get to stay 6 whole nights at Sparky's! I mean, really, what more could a girl ask for? I have to get back now, because my friends are waiting for me. I'm in high demand around here, because let's face it, I'm just that much fun.
